Induced at 39 weeks

Any mummies have gone through induced labour at 39 weeks? I will be 39 weeks tomorrow and I have an appointment with my gynae tomorrow morning. I thought of asking for induction because I am feeling pain in every part of my body, especially my pelvic area whenever I walk or do housework. And I have painful cramps too. Really need some advice and thoughts here. Thank you.

I was induced at 39 weeks cos my ultrasound scan at 38 weeks estimated baby to be at 3.85kg and the gynae wanted to induce me earlier(at 38 weeks plus) as there is a risk that baby will be too big for natural birth and might require emergency C-section.. however I have heard of stories from my friends where they were induced but the baby did not want to come out,so ended up with emergency C-section..hence I chose to wait till 39 weeks to see if baby wanna come out without induction(I took a piece of pineapple and do a lot of squats before my 39 weeks appointment)..then during my 39th weeks appointment,the gynae find that I am 2cm dilated,so she did a membrane sweep to loosen the cervix to 3cm, and then put a pessary that is meant to soften the cervix..baby was out through vaginal delivery under epidural in less than 10 hours..

If can,please ask the gynae to check on your dilation before considering induction..cos if ur body is not ready(not dilated), you might suffer for quite a while before you deliver and there is a chance of needing emergency C-section.. 加油！🍀good luck!
