Hi Parent! my Ethan ay na-diagnose po sya with autism at the age of 1 year and 8 months.

As a parent, it's quite hard to juggle both work and child-rearing, pero as a parent, it takes sacrifice to be with your child. I suggest po to engage in conversations with your child throughout the day. Speak clearly and use simple sentences, making it easier for them to understand and imitate.

What causes speech delay? is it always environmental factors or can it also be genetically acquired or hereditary?

Hi Parent! Speech delay in children can be caused by various factors. Common reasons include a delay in the development of the brain's language centers, hearing problems, or insufficient exposure to language in their environment. Other factors like premature birth, developmental disorders, or genetic conditions may also contribute to speech delays. Sometimes, a lack of early communication skills or limited interaction with caregivers can hinder language acquisition. Early intervention and support, such as speech therapy, can help address these delays and aid children in catching up with their peers. Remember, every child is unique, and it's essential to seek professional guidance if concerned about speech development.
