Insulin is expensive. Frequency and dosage will depend on how high is your blood sugar level. Once you have been identified to have gestational diabetes, they will refer you to a dietitian to help you with your diet and control sugar intake. And if high blood glucose levels persist, they will give you oral meds and insulin. Your OB will be working with an endocrinologist to help manage your gestational diabetes.
