His hair is quite long and could cause some itch. It could trap dirt also. Perhaps you can trim his hair a bit. You can try applying moisturiser or papaw cream every 3 hour to help the skin heal. Please keep the area clean and dry if possible.
This might be due to ear infection or teething. Best to consult doctor
