I’ve purchased this pack of five grain rice for my family (available in NTUC Fairprice). It consists of Brown Rice, Oat, Sorghum Rice, Buckwheat, Wheat, Barley, Millet, Adlay, Pearl Rice, Black Glutinous Rice, Gordon Euryale Seeds. In general, such whole grains are beneficial to our diets. The high fiber content is good for our digestive system. For example, buckwheat has beneficial effects on our cardiovascular system, helps with blood sugar control, which is good for lowering the risk of diabetes and protecting against heart disease. I usually cook it either as rice or porridge. When making porridge, I will also chop up some pumpkin and throw them in together during the cooking. The sweetness from the pumpkin complements the nice mix of taste and texture from the variety of grains. My parents, in particular, really enjoy eating this.
