What can I do to overcome depression during pregnancy ?

You should do someting you like most so that you can avoid thinking about the thing that make u feel depress. But if it doesnt work, i think you need to seek profesional advice since depression could affect you pregnancy.

Not yet but if ever I encounter this, I would suggest and recommend a specialist. It's expensive I know but it's one of the best and effective ways. Plus my moral support and prayers of course.

How 'normal' is baby blues affected post partum mom and in what level a mom needs expert help?

trust me mommy, it is very very normal, even though a lot of women don't really talk about it. i felt some of it with my first one, but the second delivery was really bad and i had a huge case of the blues. i managed to get out of it by listening to a lot of music and doing a lot of reading. also, i would go for long walks and clear out my head. you should definitely get help if you feel you are unable to focus clearly on things, or if you have even once had thoughts about hurting your baby or yourself. asking for help is fine, so do not hesitate to visit a professional.

I went through the baby blues after I had my first child. It was horrible. I had severe mood swings and would cry for nothing. I'm so scared now that I am going to have my second child. Would I have post natal blues again?

Think positively, if u are worrying abt it now, high chance it will come back.try to get more help n support from hb, family n friends. Go out and enjoy some fresh air

How do I convince people around me to help me battling the syndrome (esp. my husband and in-laws)?

Education goes a long way...maybe get them to check out postpartum.net and perhaps they will take it more seriously. Or else they can watch this episode 😅 it's so important that you are able to seek support from your loved ones so don't give up

How do I know the difference between being sad and depressed? Because I usually feel bouts of sadness, but it's becoming more often that I'm sad rather than happy. Is that an indication?

If you have felt low mood (sadness) and / or lack of interest and pleasure in things for more than 2 weeks I would suggest speaking to a professional to see if it might be depression
