- 2024-08-19Hi Mummies! Can you share what’s inside your hospital bag with me? EDD in January (If I do naturally) in December (If I do C-section). This is my first pregnancy. So I need to understand what I should bring or not. My plan is to give birth in TMC. Anyway, you can share your experience too. Thank you so much!

- 2024-08-19Hi mommies. Just curious, do your close friends check on you after giving birth? If yes, how often? I’m asking because my close friends of 10-11 years don’t bother checking on me during my pregnancy and after giving birth (me and baby). To be honest, a part of me feel like giving up this friendship. #firsttimemom
- 2024-08-19Could mummies please share their babies' estimated fetal weight during recent scans? I just went for a scan at 29W6D and baby was only 1106g. Very worried as it's below 2.5th percentile. Gynae said to review again at 32W and baby should be 1.8kg by then.
- 2024-08-19Could anyone please share their experience with Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR) or Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR)? My baby was only 1106g at 29W6D... Wondering if it's a cause of concern and whether it really means we have to take baby out earlier than expected...
- 2024-08-19The taste is pleasant and it doesn't sting. Besides freshening breath, it also helps with plaque bacteria.
- 2024-08-20Hi mummies, I'm having my second pregnancy. But this time, I keep having internal bleeding on and off from first trimester and currently in second trimester. I don't have fresh blood coming out, but I get cramp on and off. When I visit the gynae, she mentioned there's some bleeding inside. Any mummies have the same experience and managed to deliver a full term healthy baby? #advice
- 2024-08-20my girl has been steadily sleeping through the night since 4 months plus. recently at 8 months plus, she has been waking up one time at between 3-5am for milk. we tried to increase milk intake per feed but she is not consistently finishing it so we did not permanently increase the milk. she is also taking breakfast cereals and porridge for lunch. not sure is this period of growth spurt or sleep regression? we don't know what's wrong
- 2024-08-20Hi I'm in week 17 of my pregnancy and was doing my regular monthly checks with TMC. I thought of moving over from TMC to KKH private to save costs. Anyone did this before and any pros and cons?

- 2024-08-20I'm at Wk 36+3 today, delivering baby on the 28 Aug. 2 days ago, my hubby informed me that his company is converting him from job agency contract staff to perm staff after serving them for coming 7 months by 31 Aug. This conversion comes with a $200 increment, but we have to give up his paternity leave. Mandatory paternity leave according to advisory given to us, he is entitled to 28 Aug to 31 Aug period, 4 days only.
His company have informed him that he has to be back to work with them on the 11 Sep, so hubby says day 15 onwards my confinement i'll have to manage on my own if i dont want our family's help (i only wanted my hubby to assist me, not even our parents). I've made a statement to my hubby, i've seen confinement nanny fly kite on the employer's family, but never seen baby's father fly kite on the FTM 😂
I've helped hubby with phone calls to MOM, MSF Profamily department, even a visit to MP yesterday after my KKH visit, all done in one day trying to get an answer to our entitlements.
Yesterday I just calmed myself to go to bed early, but this morning i'm so depressed that i broke down alone at home.. I've also lost my job this month as well, and more things just came crashing. When we employees have served employers for more than 3 months and our entitlements are being revoked, i feel being taken advantage of. For my husband's case, he wants his perm contract and feel that i'm not being supportive by compromising.. But i'm a human, so how does he expect me to behave? Now he's telling me how important cash is to us to sustain the family.. But i'm telling him only one word "terminate".
- 2024-08-20My baby (16 weeks) has been crying inconsolably right after his bath (6.30-7pm). He never used to cry until the recent few weeks. He would cry non stop until we feed him. When we feed him, he will continue to cry. We tried to burp him but to no avail.
Any other parents have similar experience on this?
- 2024-08-20Whn I wanted to burp my newborn the milk came out of my baby nose why is tat so is it normal? #firstmom #advice
- 2024-08-20I’m 8 months pregnant now and am on HL currently. Gynae mentioned to me to eat more protein and to eat more as baby requires it after she checked the measurements. As I’m home right now, grocery expenses increased as I bought more nutritious food for myself eg avocado, fish, veg. It was roughly $600-$700 per month and now I have stayed home for a week and have used around $200 on groceries for this week. (Helper, me and one child are at home for lunch and dinner). My husband was shocked to hear that I spent $200 already for a week and was concerned about the way I spent the money to eat. But to me, I thought that it was the last month for me to take care of my body and baby before baby pops next month. The only difference for the expenses going up is me, a pregnant mum staying at home for lunch and eating more meat and vegetables than previous. My husband then suggested me to just eat chicken or find other ways to stay within budget. But do I really need to do that? I have not been eating well for all the previous months and this is the only month I get to stay home and just really nourish myself and my husband is asking me to control the expenses. My food is all home cooked, I only eat sardines more frequent as my sardines are high in calcium and salmon once every week. Shouldn’t husband pamper the wife more at this period of time? It’s only the last month to go.

- 2024-08-20Hi all. FTM here. Would like to ask if those filtered water from water dispenser (for eg living care, hydroflux) is safe enough to make formula milk for newborn? Usually their hot water selection comes with different temperature so husband thought we could straight away use like a warmer temperature (for clearer context, say at 50 degrees and not boiled to 100) to make formula milk. But I am just wondering if the “safest” way should be using only boiled water then cool it down to desired temp?
Anybody has real life experience of using the hot water straight from water dispenser and babies turn out fine? 😅
- 2024-08-20Hi mummies, my LO has been drooling and sucking his fingers till rashes appear on his neck and chin.. I have been applying cetaphil baby lotion but it doesn't help
Any solution to ease the rashes?
- 2024-08-20Hi mummies. I’m 35 weeks now and my vagina is extremely itchy. But no pain when I pee. Is it UTI or is there something I need to be concerned about? How to ease the itchiness? It’s very annoying!
- 2024-08-20Hi! My baby is 10 weeks 6 days, and around 5.35kg. Seems like he is in the lower percentile...
He feeds between 750-800ml each day but closer to 750ml, diaper change between 5-9 times.
Based on body weight he should be drinking 150ml x 5.35 = 802.5ml every day. I tried to offer more milk at each feeding but he cannot finish.
Is there anything I need to do differently? 😮💨
- 2024-08-21Hi mummies, do we need to book our delivery room before giving birth? I overheard a conversation while waiting for my checkup at the hospital.
Is there a need to book the delivery room? As i thought we may have an edd but it’s not exactly a fixed date. More like a first come first serve kind right?

- 2024-08-21Recently on Monday, I went for a scan requested by the doctor that did my IUI. Gestational sac has grown however he says there’s no visible yolk sac. If counting contraception date of 20 July, I should be about 6 weeks now. However a gynae I’m also separately seeing had already arrange for a scan 26 Aug which would be when we should see something. I’m confused and concerned. Was I supposed to already see something on Monday or is it blighted ovum as what my other doctor is insinuating?

- 2024-08-22I’m currently putting tgt a list of items to buy for my baby arriving in December. As we will be doing confinement at home and without help, I’m trying to make sure we have everything we need at least for the entire first month. Can experienced mummies advise how many of each of these items would be necessary for 1st month, assuming we are prepared to do laundry 3x a week:
- short sleeve onesies
- long sleeve onesies
- sleep suits/rompers
- swaddle blankets
- bibs
Thanks in advance!❤️
- 2024-08-22Anyone else finding it difficult to breathe normally these days? And don't forget the dizzy spells that accompanies the breathlessness. How do you ladies cope, especially those who are working? I wish I could lie down now tbh. Hubby is asking if I wanna go to the hospital, but I told him if it gets worse tonight then we'll proceed.
Stay strong mums to be! 💪🏼

- 2024-08-22Feeling really disappointed and upset with my husband. Since the beginning we have always decided on going private hospital to deliver and we are very comfortable with our private gynae at this point now. Today, he shared with me that his female friend told him that going to subsidy hospital is so much cheaper and c-section is a breeze for her. He asked me if I could consider that route which I strongly do not want to.
Prior to this conversation it has been a sting in my heart every now and then he will bring up c-sect even though I told him I do not want to do c-sect if possible. His reasoning is cos he is afraid that we will incur additional fees if I can’t deliver naturally after trying.
Though I’m trying to be very understanding to his points cos we are struggling financially but I can’t help to feel that he cares about his pocket more than my wellbeing. I’ve always put him first, sacrificing my body to grant him the wish to have a complete family yet he keeps thinking about what is more wallet friendly.
It’s really disappointing…
- 2024-08-22Went for growth scan and my amniotic fluid is low, at 8.1cm, baby's abdominal circumference is measuring small in the 7th percentile and fetal weight is 1043g at 12th percentile. My dr said it could be due to underlying placenta issues and may have to induce at 37 weeks if that's the case and wants to do a rescan in a week to monitor. Any moms have advice or experience on this? Any ways to increase amniotic fluid and increase abdominal circumference? #firsttimemom

- 2024-08-23I have chronic UTI and have been resistant to many antibiotics. Doctor now suggest to get admitted to hospital to administer neuroflorantin via injection for a period of 14 days. She said this antibiotic is generally safe for pregnancy but being a FTM currently in week 13 feeling quite apprehensive not knowing how it might impact baby. If I ignore the UTI, it could also be risky due to premature labour. Anybody else had a similar issue?
- 2024-08-232nd pregnancy, symptoms much more manageable than the first and i'm feeling peckish all the time for strong flavoured food. Gained weight much faster this time round compared to the first. About 5 months pregnant now. Is more weight gain expected for 2nd pregnancy usually? Or just that my appetite is better than when I carried my first...

She is her usual self, smiling and playing. She does not look like she is in discomfort. Thanks ☺️☺️☺️

- 2024-08-24Hi mummies, at what weeks should I be decisive of my chosen route, private or govt?
Currently I’m on my 18th weeks and due for the anomaly scan and whooping cough. Wish to get the subsided rate at KKH but I would missed out on the anenatal package from private gynae(usually 10 session etc).
Can’t make up my mind because KKH I heard has good doctor for neonatal care should things goes south but they are strict on hospitalisation leaves, shared rooms, and consultation can only be on weekdays which hubby has to take extra leaves.
While private route would be easier, but I heard the emergency c section or NICU will cost a bomb.
For your kind advice and thoughts please thank you!
