Telling your workplace on your pregnancy

Hi working mummies, when did you tell your boss that you're pregnant since you need to take leave often to go for check up. I don't want my bosses to think that I'm are critically ill (the fact that you go for prenatal check up every 3-4 weeks).

When at first trimester I am asked to go every 2 weeks. With no choice I informed my immediate reporting supervisors and informed e rest when I reach 3 months (Chinese belief)

I knew at week 8 and shared with my boss/team. But i didnt take much sick leave for my check up days since after some time i switched it to saturdays...
