I only visited my gynae at 8 weeks. By then, I cld see and hear my baby's heartbeat clearly. Any earlier may be a hit or miss, and may just get you more anxious and worried. It'll indeed be a long wait frm the time u discovered to ur 1st appt but yes, start taking folic acid if u havent. For me, when I learnt abt my pregnancy, I went to my family GP first and she got me to do an initial blood test to check on my iron level etc. Aft tt, just monitor ur pregnancy, hopefully no abnormal discharge etc.

If you go now, you will not see or hear anything & then you'll be curious, anxious & scared because gynae cannot detect your baby yet. Normally gynae will see on your 8th week onwards so best to book an appt first & take your folic acid starting today. Also know that your LMP may not be accurate as you predicted so don't be surprise when you got to know that you're actually earlier than 4 wks or later than 4 wks during your 1st scan.

I went at week 7 though I found out much earlier through a test kit. Usually if it’s too early, you won’t be able to see anything on the ultrasound scanner. My baby was only at 8mm at 7 weeks but thankfully, the gynae could get a heartbeat. So I think it’s ok to wait a while more so that you can see something and hear the heartbeat. (:

Went only at week 8, could hear the heartbeat. Might not be able to hear before that

I went to check the moment my kit shows positive it was around 5 weeks.
