Books like these lend a local flavour to popular fairy tales, but I'm not so sure about letting children at a young age read it as it may interfere with their learning of the English language. Therefore, I would buy it as a gift for friends but I wouldn't buy it for my child. There are other local writers who write for children, one of them being Ruth Wan (Timmy & Tammy). http://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore-news/local-writers-childrens-books-say-they-get-little-support This book is written by Casey Chen and it can be found online: The Collective Effort https://www.thecollectiveeffort.com.sg/products/the-little-red-riding-hood-lah RedMart https://redmart.com/product/casey-chen-the-red-riding-hood-lah-43741 There's another story called the Three Little Pigs Lah, but it's currently out of stock. https://www.thecollectiveeffort.com.sg/products/the-three-little-pigs-lah

U can try the National Library nearby your place. Usually, they will have lots of varieties of books suitable and can arouse the interest of the kids. Most importantly, it's FREE. The only setback is that the books aren't new. If you can find under redmart, you may wish to refer to this link https://www.shopback.sg/?raf=taeRBg to get cashback.

Have you tried checking the national library board for a copy? Also check kinokuniya for it. You can also try one of the novelty stores like Niise or the collective effort - I vividly remember seeing local books being sold.
