I used to cook semi quinoa porridge at work during lunch time using the mini rice cooker which once a hit for making tomato rice. Because it is quinoa, it cooks really fast. But stopped after sometime when milk supply stabilized. Baby is now in toddlerhood. We now boil soup using the electronic pressure cooker. Nutritious soup for the whole family ready in 1hr time. It can be used to cook porridge and other dishes too.

None of my friends cooked at their workplace. Instead, they use a slow cooker when they want to prepare meals in advance. A few of them would cook porridge overnight and put it into a thermos to bring along to the childcare centre. I'm thinking you could consider doing the same but cooking in the morning so that you can serve it for dinner after you are back from work. Just a suggestion. :)

Hi, I used to boil porridge in slow cooker and baby comes home ready to eat. But after a while, it became very tiring. So, in the morning, I just got up a little earlier and put everything to partial boil before pouring them into portable shuttle chef for it to "cook" by itself. At the end of the day, it remained warm and the porridge is just nice for my baby.

I tried a new method shown in channel 8 to cook porridge in 15mins. U may want to experiment once? I wash and drain the grains, pop them into the freezer overnight. The next day, I just dump in ingredients of my choice, boil for 15mins and it's done. Definitely saved me a lot of time, electricity and gas!

No one i know has cooked porridge at work either. Better option to cook at home using a slow cooker. It can be left overnight as well in the morning just change the setting to warm. Go. To work and when you return it will still be warm. Perfect!

I have not cooked porridge at work but I used to make soup at work. I use the electric cooker to do so and transfer to a thermal flask to bring home when it's ready.
