Here is a great list of food (categorized by fruits/vegetables, starches/carbs, and protein) you can try giving your one-year old: http://yourkidstable.com/2012/06/mega-list-of-first-finger-foods-for.html An here’s another one with suggested serving size for each type of food and a sample menu: http://www.newkidscenter.com/What-to-Feed-a-One-Year-Old.html Some general guidelines for feeding a one-year old: - Let your baby decide how much he/she would like to eat as he/she is now capable to listening to his/her hunger cues. - Cut food into small pieces so that they could eat it easily and minimize their chances of choking. - Don’t give your baby fluids (such as milk or juices) immediately before mealtime. This will help increase the amount of food he/she eats. Also, if you are breastfeeding, try not to give more than 24oz (or 700ml) of milk. Too much milk with too little food may cause iron-deficiency anemia. - You may need to introduce a new food multiple times if your baby is unwilling to try it the first time. - Do not leave your baby unattended during mealtimes. - Do it gradually. For example, replace one nursing session at a time.

My youngest child was very adventurous with his food at 1 year, unlike his older brother at the same age. With my younger child, I did away with the purees and started introducing 'regular' food when he was one. Some of the things he enjoyed (and still does) were spaghetti bolognese, noodle soup and cheese toasties. He also liked eating fruit, cut into bite sized chunks. Remember if you are offering grapes to always cut them in half (lengthways) to avoid a choking hazard. Offering plenty of variety now will reduce fussiness levels later :)

When my child turned 1 he rejected all his regular baby food and it was then that I was forced to realise that he was bigger now and ready for textures and a wider variety of flavours. At that age I remember he loved pasta with bolognese sauce, shepard's pie with mash potato topping, salmon fishing cakes, ABC pasta mac and cheese and an Asian chicken noodle soup. :)

Lots of food can be fed to a one year old, though you might start experiencing problems soon as there is a huge huge appetite drop around 12 months which might last a few months. If that is what you are experiencing now, I would advice to offer food which both you and bub trust : porridge, pasta, toast, any type of finger food.
