There's a father's day advertisement going on Tv and there was 1 scene which is causing some concern for me. A girl shouts "I HATE YOU!" before slamming the door in her father's face. It may sound like any other advertisement on Tv but here's the thing. Its been on repeat for awhile now and our Tv is switched on in the evenings and at nights. Because cmon, its impossible not to switch on the TV at all. My 17th month old said something which caught me offguard. It was unclear but he said "I hay youuu" playfully and looked at my husband and me while grinning. He loves to repeat words that we say so we know he clearly was following the girl in the advertisement. He obviously doesnt know what he is saying but for the fact that he said it out loud, it just broke my heart.

If the TV is playing this ad at the moment, then switch to children’s channel to encourage your lo to learn good things. TV can be a good influence too if set to educational channels

Hi... if you think that tv is a bad influence to your child, try not to switch it on. Alternatively, you can play children or cartoons programs when you’re watching tv with your child.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that TV is a bad influence. Its usually switched on to kid friendly programmes anyway. I am just sharing my concerns on how easily influenced children can be by what is around them or what they are exposed to,thats all.
