Any parents here with children taking singulair? My 10 months old baby got bronchitis twice and PD wants to start him on this western "lung tonics" singulair. Hi my baby has not taken singularity before but my Niece has taken. For a period of time think a few months she was taking constantly because and she also keep getting sick but she was already older then not believe 1yo. As with any western medicine I always think it is not good to take long term. Imagine the burden on the liver when medicine is given to a baby since young. I suggest you get a second opinion.maybe you can try to visit Dr Jenny Tang from Sbcc gleneagles? She specializes in respiratory and sleep disorders. Did she catch the virus from IFC or someone in the family by the way? Babies who catch bronchitis too often are at higher risk of getting asthma later on btw. Perhaps you can also bring her to Yu Guo massage at Kembangan. I have read good reviews of their baby massage. Will not suggest she takes singular now

Both my kids took singulair when they had bronchitis. Similar to you I had my reservations and raised it with my pd. End result I gave it to my kids because their recovery was my priority (she didn't give me any other alternative drugs instead she told me the side effects if I didn't give). If you're uncomfortable with feeding a medicine maybe you can seek 2nd opinion or TCM. As for my case my boys recovered and I didn't see any side effects.

I would personally seek a second opinion and see if there is another option of drugs. Quite a number of side effects with singulair. Have friends whose kids completely changed (temper tantrums) when they have been on singulair. Try zyrtex? Or Swimming?

Probably you can take for them to recover first. Once she has recovered, look for a TCM. Those TCM treatment tend to be a little slower in showing the effect, it's better in managing immunity building
