my hubs is the one v rude to his family, particularly his mother but also because my MIL is quite a pain in the a** so he has no patience when talking to her. when needed, I will ask my hubs to lower his volume and talk nicely to his mother. as for me, lol I'm the "fiercer" one, I will "slap" his mouth if he talks to me loosely 😅 but I think u should let him know and have a chat over this issue. communication is key.

I think it's a natural progression because it's tiring to keep up the verbal filter with someone you are comfortable with and are around all the time. Is he more polite to his siblings too? If you feel uncomfortable please let him know you feel hurt by what he says, it will take time but he may slowly adjust his level back with enough prompts (not nagging tho).

My husband talks to his friends and colleagues politely but tends to treat us (his family and me) like we’re talking to the wall or reply in an annoyed tone. Quarrelled over this issue for years… he’s better now after we’re expecting our first baby cause I told him if he continues to be like this I’ll teach his kid to disrespect him the same way.

No, my spouse is very sweet and polite. Dated him for so many years . Married last year Feb and baby came this year Oct . overwhelmed and happy to be parent.☺️ you should talk to your spouse about your feelings.

Super Mum

Hey there.. have you attempted to communicate your wishes to your husbands. I feel that sometimes they can be quite clueless and unaware of how they make us feel. They need to be told point blank. 😅

feel there should still be some form of respect, maybe like what u said too comfortable. suggest to talk abt it or u can use a different (nicer) tone too to him?
