the pump will not be a heavy duty one. Consider the Spectra S9+ which is compact and lightweight; doesn't take up much space in the house. It's selling at $139.90 on Qoo10. I got mine from seller Babyjoa. It's an electric double pump with rechargeable built-in battery. Double pumps are generally said to have better yields as they stimulate both breasts together and also saves time. Alternatively you could try this that I thought of on my own: DIY Unimom manual pump. Parts needed: 1. Unimom switch kit $15.20 (Pupsik) 2. Unimom silicon massager $10.32 (Pupsik) 3. Unimom breastshield $10.32 Pump into your own standard bottle and only costs 35.84! I'm using this manual pump on days when I feel lazy to be hooked on to my electric pump. It is able to clear my breasts in a shorter time, I'm happy with the yield and my arms get some exercise.

She should get a pump. Just learned from lactation consultant that the massage mode from breast pump can help to prepare boobs for direct latching. After the manual massage for the boobs, you can further soften it using the massage mode. My spectra s9+ works well for that purpose

A pump would be useful to empty the breasts after her baby finishes nursing. Spectra is a good and affordable brand. I am using S1 which is a hospital grade model but is more suited for home use. For portability, consider Spectra 9+ or Medela freestyle.

I’m getting Pumpables GeniePlus as I heard it’s good. Strongly recommended by a few mums in my Jun 2020 mummy group. U can check out the Groupbuy: 30% Pumpables GeniePlus 25% Pumpables SuperGenie https://chat.whatsapp.com/KJvdVOLE8eg4tVqTwveDuo
