Sometimes is good to train them to use their fingers to grasp and feed themselves. Give them a variety such as fruits, steam soft vegetables as well. For those puffs, look for organic ones without sugar, salt, oil and artificial additives - some food manufacturers tries to hide their ingredients by stating fruit juice concentrate which is essentially sugar.
