I never had an edema all throughout my pregnancy. You can lessen the manas through elevating your lower limbs higher than your chest then incorporate ankle pumps. Drink more water, lessen salty foods. Also monitor your BP always. Edema is normal during pregnancy BUT it may also be a sign of pre eclampsia (maternal hypertension).
