Epidural will speed up your dilation process as you will feel more relax and less tense during contraction pain. However, it does slow down your labor during pushing out of your baby. You might find that your epidural makes pushing more difficult and additional medications or interventions may be needed such forceps or cesarean. http://americanpregnancy.org/labor-and-birth/epidural/

for my case, it actually speeds up because I'm relaxed. I was stuck at 3cm dilation for many hours..and after almost immediately had my epidural, I was fully dilated and ready to push. was telling the midwife I feel so cheated but she says ita because I'm relaxed from the epidural that's why everything move quickly from there

Yes, most definitely. Because you are not able to feel any pain (your lower half of the body will be numb), contractions will be harder to feel. I didn't take epidural for my #1 and labour was only 2.5hours. My #2 was with epidural and labour was approx. 9 hours.

I don't think so? In fact I think it speeds up my delivery process. I am ready to push within 30mins after I had the epidural.

thanks
