Mummy symptoms

Hi Mums, my wife is aged 33 & in her 12th week. She is already experiencing, bloating, bad appetite, leg cramps, neck aches, sleepless nights & frequent urination ever since 6th week. Is this normal? When we check with the doc, he says nothing can be done & symptoms differ from people to people. Wanted to bring her for a neck & shoulder massage but many places would not do it. Older folks even told us that I should not give her a massage as we do not know by pressing the wrong nerve, it might cause miscarriages. We are even told, we cannot use heat plaster. I am really at a lost on what we should do. It pains me to be not able to do anything when my wife is complaining. Sometimes, I even ask myself if we should have been more careful. (We however do love kids) Regards, A lost Daddy to be..

she will feel better once she reach 2nd trimester

First of all, I think it’s great that you are actively reaching out looking for ways to help your wife deal with some of these unpleasant symptoms of pregnancy. Unfortunately, the doctor is right - symptoms differ from person to person and there’s not much one can do about it except to hang in there and hope it’ll pass soon. What you can help with is perhaps ask her what will make her feel better and try those eg: raising her leg up when sitting & doing simple leg stretching exercises , taking a warm bath or applying warm compress on the shoulders , eating small frequent meals of nutritious food instead of heavy meals, drinking caffeine free ginger or chamomile tea. It’s not easy to acknowledge there’s not much you can do but hang on in there and hopefully she will feel better soon!

It's rather normal for such symptoms. I had first 4 months of nausea and giddiness. Was so pale that co-workers got worried if I'm terminally ill. Just got to be strong and cope with it, most preggers feels much better in coping from month 3 on. Stay by your wife and be there for her emotionally.
