My middle child, our son who is now 5 going on 6 was exactly that! I couldn’t bend down and pick something up without him being carried on my hip. He would cry the minute I was out of his sight and that was difficult. But I always assured him that I would come back for him. It helped :) now he’s so much better and loves to do things on his own :) I believe it’s a phase abs when it passes it can sometimes be bitter sweet.
