If you like you can also add in some carrots, carrots are naturally sweet and will add a tinge of sweetness for taste. Remember to keep stiring. I normally use the slow cooker so ill cook for about an hour in total. If you are using slices of fish, it would be very fast. 10minutes should suffice.
