“Solid Starts” is a great app (paid app tho) for baby led weaning. Otherwise you can follow their ig for free tips, and they are plentiful. They do show you videos of babies that are ready (and also not ready) for solids, mentioned about chocking vs gagging (which is normal and okay), how to cut and serve various food safely, what are iron-rich food, all about introducing allergens etcs. It was one of my baby’s first food and is iron-rich. See the “Rice Cereal with Spinach and Egg Yolk”: https://www.healthhub.sg/programmes/parent-hub/recipes Look through this for sample of meal planning: https://www.healthhub.sg/programmes/parent-hub/baby-toddler/childhood-healthy-diet Btw, I do mainly puree for my baby (currently 9 months old). I started solids with my baby at 6 months. I preload the spoon and have him put it into his mouth himself. BLW is quite messy, so I will only try it when i have time and help for clean up. You can also buy store-bought food if you do not have the time to make your own puree/ food. Good to look into cooking in bulk and freezing your home-made food to save time. Starting solids can be daunting and scary, but it is so fun to watch your baby eat! Baby may constipate when starting solid, so they may need some water or have prune puree/ juice for help them poop. Worse come to worse, you may need to see a PD about it. Great igs to follow for food ideas. Hi there, Babies usually start to sit up with support between 4 to 5 months. By around 6 months, many can sit independently for short periods. Neck strength develops over time, and by 4 to 5 months, your baby's neck muscles should be strong enough to support their head when sitting with help. To know if your baby is ready for solids, look for these signs: 1. They can sit up with minimal support. 2. They have good head control. 3. They show interest in food, like reaching out or opening their mouth when you eat. 4. They lose the tongue-thrust reflex, which pushes food out of their mouth. If you're planning to introduce solids, start with small amounts of pureed food and gradually increase the variety. Don't forget to keep breastfeeding or formula-feeding as the main source of nutrition until they are at least one year old. If you're also thinking about boosting your breast milk production during this period, you might find this breast milk enhancer helpful: [Breast Milk Enhancer](https://invl.io/cll7ha0). Take it one step at a time and enjoy this exciting milestone with your little one. You're doing great! https://invl.io/cll6she

hm.. u can gauge how steady the head is based on the tummy time. I started at 6 mth, but honestly I think I should've started at 5.5 when he could sit assisted without his head being too wobbly. Coz now my baby has low iron, and it would've been good to start solids earlier for this

Usually head control is achieved by 3 months plus minus in any position - you could start solids if you feel like your child is able to lift his or her neck well, not bobbing their head when you sit them. Sitting up straight usually happens after 6 months

Sit straight up i think coming to 7 months if i can remember. But i just started solid anyway at 6 months cause his neck is strong he can sit assisted altho still bend to front

Sit with assistance around 4.5m, unassisted at 7m. I started solid at 5.5m (baby’s head not wobbly).

read somewhere that babies typically start solids atleast after 6 months

mine sit up at 6 months
