To be exact po Mi, ang prenatal multivitamins po ay may Folic pa rin pong kasama (usually nasa 400-600mcg ang dose) yung folic acid lang yung as in yun lang talaga laman ng capsule , yan po matataas ang dose (5mg dose etc) na mas common tinitake during 1st trimester, esp if may episodes of bleeding or di pa makita cardiac activity ni baby, or yung sac pa lang, etc or before magbuntis (lalo may history ng miscarriage, stillbirth..) kaya po minsan o madalas naririnig ninyo na mas okay magtake ng folic acid lalo kung planning na talaga magbuntis. Ako po until 2weeks postpartum, pinagtake pa rin ni OB.. Best tandem din ang ferrous at folic sa tissue at blood health both ni mommy and baby. So technically, wala naman po specific months kelan ka papahintuin. binabawasan lang po yung dosage (from 5mg to 400mcg for example lang) depending sa status ng pregnancy.
Yung calcium supplements, exactly by 2nd trimester binibigay usually, and minsan double dose pa since yun yung stage na lumalaki si baby at magimprove yung bones nya as well as yung bones mo rin kasi 2 kayong need ng calcium- lalo kung di ka mahilig sa milk, nuts, lean mean, cheese and green leafy, mga good sources of calcium kasi yan.
