Do you let your baby crawl around the house on the floor? Or must it be on mat?
Floor is fine after he's more stable, but never without supervision
On the mat at first then all around the house after he got stable
On the mat and on the bed. My girl crawls like a pro on bare floor though but too risky...
I let baby crawl all over
Initially on the mat but later crawl everywhere
I let her crawl on the play mat (within the play yard) and on the bed, because I’m there watching her. I’m scared to let her roam free. Even 1 second of me being distracted can result in an accident. But if your house is fully baby proofed, then you may be comfortable with baby crawling on the floorRead more
I don’t let LO crawl around the house. Worried that she might bump her head or put things in her mouth. I put her in a play yard and play mat.
Around the house.. Actually depends on you.
- My son will be 9 months old in about a week and he still isn't crawling. He rolls around on the floor but doesn't really show any interest in crawling. How do I get him to start?
To try encouraging your son to crawl, you could place his toy a short distance in his path to motivate him to crawl towards it. It is also possible for some babies to skip crawling entirely. It is not one of the gross motor skills, like rolling over and sitting up. Crawling is simply a method for a baby to explore his/her surroundings. The baby could also be sliding on his/her tummy or shifting around on his/her bottoms to achieve the same objective. Sounds like your son found rolling effective in getting him places. Sounds really cute! :)Pavin Chopra
- For lo who sleep on mattress on the floor and on their own room, how do u prevent them from crawling and walking around the room on their own in the middle of the night?Anonymous
