It is common for the hair that your baby was born with to fall off. This is due to the lowering of the level of pregnancy hormone previously present in his/her body. After the first “shed”, your baby’s hair will enter a new growth cycle. The hair that grows in this stage will be what your baby’s actual hair will be (and may likely appear different from the type he/she had when he/she was first born). The growth rate differs for every baby. For some, it may take up to two to three years to have a great head of hair.
new born babies do have a lot of hair fall and it is common. when your baby is in the womb, he or she experiences a different hormonal level that changes after delivery, which is a major cause. another reason is that because baby is always lying down and not able to lift the head, the area that is most in contact with the surface of the bed will experience hairfall. don't worry as it will all come back

Yep. It's normal as Hui Qun mentioned, as the hormones levels is different from when baby is in the womb. My son has patches of bald spots so keeping my fingers cross that he'll grow some soon!
