maternity leave by law is 16 weeks, so slightly less than 4 month. the first 8 weeks must take in one go and is for 56 calendar days, so if there are any public holidays in the 56 days you kinda lose out on the public holidays. the next 8 weeks is by 40 working days, and flexible to take at any time.

By law is 4 months (provided you are with the company for more than 3 months - double check duration) unless you split half with hubby.
