i think it's okay. i would tell the same thing to my lo as well. dapat tlga sabihin na ang Christmas is for Jesus and not for santa. pwede prin nman nilang kilalanin si santa as someone from christmas fairytales.
My children after knowing about Santa were not affected and we all continue the giving and sharing of gifts every christmas and still hang stocking decors near the door of course with Santa Claus
Pagmalaki na ang mga bata pwede mo nmang sabihin ang totoo ng story about Santa kaya maypagbibigayan na related rin sa pagdiriwang ng birthday ng poong maykapal.
I agree with your mom. I believe that Christmas are for kids with all the exciting presents when “Santa” comes to town. 🙂
