I remember my tito who works in the US told me once. 'Wag na raw ako magsabi ng po at opo, especially to people I don't know dahil it somehow reflects that there's someone inferior and superior between us. So I got his point, na para ako yung "superior" as opposed to who I am talking to. What are your thoughts about this, parents?

Thanks for this, Imelda. I thought so too. Words are just words and at the end of the day, mas importante pa rin ang asal ng tao.

I don't believe that children should be reprimanded to say po and opo because that has been inclined with our culture that using po and opo sends sign for respect.
