I really need some advice. Few days before giving birth to my LO, my husband asked me to abort just because he say he does not have money to pay and find it very stressful etc. But now, I've given birth and still on confinement, to be counted as those unlucky ones, I've infections, fever etc. Even after knowing I'm having infections, fever, etc, my husband doesn't even give a damn and even ask me to go work to earn my own medical bill. I really find this marriage hopeless as he also doesn't show any respect to my parents and me. Now that I've given birth, I have a feeling if I were to mention divorce or anything, he gonna be snatching my LO from me. What should I do? He's not a Singaporean, but my LO is. And he intend to bring my LO back to his country and never comes back if I refuse to let my LO to even go back once. Upon hearing this, as a mum, how would I even dare to let my LO go back for just even once? What should I do?

Are you Singaporean? He can't take your baby without the permission out of Singapore you can report to the police if he do so. Find your family or someone can trust to help you. Did you get married with him? If you say he is not a Singaporean.

By virtue of the fact your child is a Singapore citizen, the father does not have all the rights to bring your LO out of the country. If you're still under follow up at the hospital you gave birth at, you may want to ask your doctor to help you get in touch with a social worker for this.

Stay in singapore. No matter what he says it even if he pretends to turn a new leave. At least in singapore your rights are protected. Are you Singaporean? Do you get maternity leave?

Yes I'm a Singaporean. I've stop working ever since I'm pregnant, as no company wants to hire me. I'd definitely stay in Singapore but in just afraid he brings the baby back..

gosh why did you guys get married in the first place -.- Now have one kid and so much problem. The problem will spill over to the kid in future.

Every family will have some problems down the road, especially in financial and health. We have to be strong and go through all the ordeals ourselves. If you are the more fortunate ones, you can volunteer your service in charity and god bless you.
