any important checks for after 26weeks?

After 26 weeks, you’ll be scheduled for vaccinations, OGTT (check for gestational diabetes. If you do have it, proper care must be taken to ensure baby grows ans remains well), a growth scan (28-32 weeks, depending on which hospital), a GBS swab (check for a bacteria in the vagina.. this is important as if it’s present, you need to be started on antibiotics once you go into labour, to protect baby). The subsequent visits also usually involve the doptone (checking the baby’s heartbeat), measurement of your tummy (to estimate baby’s size, and if abnormal, further scan may be scheduled). Of course, your gynae will check if you have any symptoms or questions during the consults. And if you have any signs of labour, your gynae may do a check to see if the cervix is dilated. Essentially, there are many benefits of going for your antenatal visits. No one can force you though. So if you have financial difficulties, please try to get assistance from the social worker. Hi. I went polyclinic to confirm pregnancy and they will give u this slip of paper that shows the important appts to go. At 26th weeks you are a little over 6mths which means you're in your 3rd trimester. The only important ones are 32weeks onwards cos need to monitor baby developments and position. If you are financially strapped u may talk to your hospital cashier counter. They will advise you on your bill payments. Don't suffer in silence. Seek help.
