I am so confused between all the enrichment classes mummies. I am not sure whether my little one should do art/creative stuff or sports or academic stuff? Do you guys have a magic formula?
The "magic" comes from your child! Find out what he/she likes, and then let him/her try it out :) If he/she can talk, that's great - otherwise, you can just do simple trial and error! Whatever it is, make sure that it's something your child enjoys - and if he/she doesn't like it, there's no need to be forcing them to finish everything. While our money may be a concern at times, we should also be mindful of their opinions - if need be, let him/her finish the class (eg. one month, one term etc) BUT let him/her do something else that he/she likes while waiting for that to end!
Read moreMost parents send their children for academic enrichment classes in addition to another hobby lesson i.e. ballet or piano. I would let my child go for trial classes and observe which class she has more interest in before committing. Some academic classes allow children to learn in a fun way like Berries Chinese class. Speech and Drama class is a good idea as well, as they get to be creative and role-play. - Act3 International http://act3international.com.sg/
Read moreI do a lot of arts and craft at home with my tot so I prefer to sign her up for movement classes such as dance and drama. It also depends on your child's interest. The best thing to do is join a trial class before signing up for the whole package.
I think a balance between the twos will be ideal. You can try to observe your child's interest. E.g. My daugther does not like sports e.g. ice skating, so I choose art class for her. For sports, I do light one with her, e.g. cycling, playing badminton.
