It is normal to feel anxious as you are entering a new stage of life and has taken on a new role and more responsibilities. Studies have shown that new dads can go through depression (termed Paternal Postnatal Depression, PPND). You may find this article useful in understanding the condition: http://www.parents.com/parenting/dads/sad-dads/ However, there is also a fine line between normal “daddy blues” and PPND. As mentioned, the feelings of anxiousness are perfectly normal but it becomes an issue of concern when it escalates into PPND. This article highlights some differences between the two: http://www.fitpregnancy.com/parenting/fatherhood/dad-stressed-or-experiencing-paternal-postnatal-depression Be aware of the symptoms and seek professional help when needed.
