I am considering to have another child. However, I think I am too old to have (I am late 30s). What is the age range that I should stop considering getting pregnant?

My friend gave birth to a very healthy 2nd child at 40 years of age. Fann Wong gave birth at 42. There are disadvantages of having children too late i.e. it's more tiring to look after them and there are increased risks of birth defects. On the bright side, there are studies which show that moms over 30 have a LOWER risk of having children with major congenital malformations which are not caused by chromosome abnormalities. http://www.webmd.com/baby/news/20140203/babies-born-to-moms-over-35-may-have-lower-risk-for-certain-birth-defects

My mother had me when she was 36. And I just read that Andy Lau's wife, who is 50 this year, is pregnant. I think you can consider as long as you feel ready to have another child. With regular checkups and taking good care of both your physical and mental health, you could have a safe and smooth pregnancy. It may not be easy getting pregnant, so you can also keep in mind the option of consulting a fertility specialist or other options (e.g. adoption if you and your husband are open to the idea). All the best! :)

Many women have their kid in late 30s. I think as long you have no sign of menopause and your doctor says you're healthy you're good to go. But, there are some stuff you need to consider like how old are you when your kid become teenager, can youhandle their drama at your age? How about your job, do you have financial security or others fund for your kid when you're getting old and not working anymore.

Your energy level will start to decline once you cross 40. I have a friend who gave birth at 44. One of her key concerns right now is how to maintain her looks. She doesn't want to stand out in the wrong way when the time comes for her son's Primary 1 enrollment (she will be 51 then). Kids actually do compare how their mothers look. Not kidding!

I am 41 and having my 2nd one who is a surprise baby, unplanned 😅. Coming to 5 months, no morning sickness at all and first trimester tests results were good. My girl is already coming to 11 years old so really big age gap. Anyway I guess ur never too old to have a baby as long your body is ready.

Ideal age according to studies is before 30 and the latest is 33 to ensure a healthy baby and easy conception. My mother-in-law gave birth to my wife at the age of 42. The thing is, she didn't experience breastfeeding my wife even for few days but thank God my wife is normal.

there's no such "TOO OLD "when you wish to have a child, keep on trying!do anything you can, seek for doctors help, etc. My husband and I are optimistic and thank God .I'm almost 38 years old and currently 16 weeks and 4 days pregnant.Dont give up hope!

Children are angels from God. If you are financially stable, why not? When the children grow up, they have another one more person to discuss their problems with. It is a joyous thing and most important, you must feel healthy and positive.

It's not too old! Even though it might not feel the same when you got pregnant might younger. Know that it is also harder to get pregnant as age progresses. I have heard from my gynae there are ladies who get pregnant naturally at 45!

I have friends who have given birth to healthy and happy babies well into their late 30s and early 40s. They said that the key was keeping in good health and working with a good doctor to ensure safety of both mom and child.
