My husband feels that I don't cook like his mother. Every time I take efforts to make a dish his reaction is the same! I am really heartbroken as its been 5 years now. Feel like doing nothing for him.

Well..stop trying to please him if he doesn't appreciate your efforts! Very calmly tell him that you might not be as "good" as his mother but you are good in whatever you do! Its a typical Indian men phenomenon who refuse to grow up!
