It's up to your comfort level, but before deciding you got to let your mil know in advance to avoid unhappiness in future. There are certain things to list it out like you will be buying all the baby needs etc. I have a relative who's mil quite calculative initially was OK with 400 a month to tc baby only from 9am to 6pm when both parents are working. But as time goes by she start to feel unhappy about it and had complain to many relatives. My relative household income only 5k. So it wasn't easy for them too end up my relative got to quit her job just to tc her baby.

i doesnt get along with my MIL so i just give $300 , i will buy milk powder ,diaper ,clothing on my own then pass to MIL, im juz a retail assistant ,didnt earn much this is what i can afford

Depend on your income. Baby stuff you buy and she take care baby don't need to give so much. 500 to 700 will do. Or child care easier.
