It really depends on the child’s age. Babies below one should not be given cow’s milk. For children between 1 to 2 years old, 2 to 3 cups of whole milk For children between 2 to 3 years old, at least 2 cups from dairy group (could include cow’s milk, soy milk, yogurt, cottage cheese etc) For children between 4 to 8, years old at least 2.5 cups from dairy group (could include cow’s milk, soy milk, yogurt, cottage cheese etc) For children older than 9 years old, at least 3 cups from dairy group (could include cow’s milk, soy milk, yogurt, cottage cheese etc) Guide taken from: http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/many-glasses-milk-should-kid-drink-1100.html

According to the American Academy of Paediatrics, children should drink about 2 to 3 cups of milk per day. It will affect your child's iron and calorie level. Please take note that an overdose of milk might lead to iron deficiency. Visit http://healthland.time.com/2012/12/21/milk-for-kids-2-cups-a-day-no-more-and-no-less/ for more details. :-)
