How do I choose a stroller?

Your choice of stroller should depend on your usage. Whether you are looking for a stroller for hiking, for daily use or for jogging. For an easy to use stroller that a mom can handle without a helper, the following are things which I look out for. #1 Light weight. The stroller should be light enough and can be easily carried by one hand. Preferably between 3kg - 4kg #2 Easy to move. Mommy can push a stroller in a straight line and turn it with one hand #3 Adjustable seat. Newborns need a seat that reclines to an almost flat position. #4 Adjustable shade. This will protect your child from the sun # 5 Safety seatbelt. The safest system is  a five-point harness that wraps around the waist, between the legs, and comes down over the shoulders. #6 Easy to keep and store. A stroller can be easily folded using one hand. I am currently using Combi Well Comfort Stroller which fulfil all my conditions!

It depends on your priorities. Will you be out with your baby often without your hubby? If so, then you might want something light and that can be easily open/close with one arm (since baby will be in the other arm). For these type you can consider Babyzen Yoyo. This stroller is also approved to be brought into planes if you're travelling. If you are driving, you'll have to consider if the stroller fits into your car boot. Or if you like a stroller that can attach a car seat (e.g. Mc Claren) so you'll just have to collapse the frame and you can move your baby easily if he is sleeping. For me, I got a regular stroller (Mini Cooper) which I can open and close with 1 hand. Sometimes if I'm too tired and my son is too fussy, I'd ask the taxi driver to help me to open the stroller up for me.

For me, my priority was weight - so I looked out for light strollers. I also wanted a stroller which had a reversible handle. I settled on Aprica Karoon. After multiple uses, if I were to refine my search again, I would want one with good suspension and 4 swivel wheels, in addition to the weight. You have to prioritise and see which one you want. There are many functions. Some can recline fully, some have fully extendable canopies and others can fold up into the size of a briefcase. You can also limit your options by your budget. http://pregnant.sg/articles/how-to-choose-a-baby-stroller/

Because we drive most of the time, I chose one which was easy to open and close and secondly sturdy. I didn't like strollers which were light yet couldn't maintain stability on rocky grounds. I chose the joie litetrax as there was someone selling it online. Also depends how young your child is and how you are planning to travel with the stroller.
