I think that you should remind him that you guys are all content and happy (which you hopefully are) The past is the past and what matters is now and the future. What is important is he is there for you now and he hasn't left you. There are a lot of fathers out there that have been financially supportive but have never been physically or emotionally there for their children so you have one good dad :)

Maybe just tell him that it doesn't matter at all whether he provided enough or not? What's happened has happened and the important thing is he's there. That alone is enough. Hope that helps.
