Generally, studies have not found any association between increased risk of chronic back pain with the administration of epidural. A mother may, however, experience short-term back soreness at the site at with the medication was injected. Back pain after birth may be cause by other reasons such as pre-existing prenatal backaches due to mechanical and structural changes in the spine anatomy during pregnancy. i had an epidural for both my babies and i did suffer from back pain, but it was only for a few months after the delivery. in the first case, i had a back ache for about 6 months and in the second deliveyr i had a backachae for about 2 months. but it did not come back again. check this link which also says that even though some people suffer from back pain after an epidural, it is mostly caused due to other factors http://www.livestrong.com/article/262868-bad-long-term-side-effects-of-an-epidural/

I ended up having terrible back problems. I ended up having an MRI and found that my S1 and L5 having some problems I think that's where they inserted the epidural. My back hurts like hell and that was last when I gave birth, and now I am pregnant again and my back hurts again

No effect for me. I am completely ok after post partum - no backache (just stiff shoulders).

Nope. I didn't have any after effects.
