My sister used to have them around the time she was three or four . I’m six years older than she is so I remember them vividly. They are very different from regular nightmares. She would ask sleep walk - get out of bed and be upset about or searching for “something” and as much as you speak to her she doesn’t Really “hear” you and if we tried to stop her or hug her she’d get even more agitated. We would just let her search and walk with her and be reassuring.. eventually she would calm down and allow herself to be led back to bed and settle down.

Ngayon lang po...tumayo siya bigla at para bang takot na takot. akala ko nakatulog na siya kaya tumayo ako para umihi pero ilang saglit lang nilapitan niya ako at patingin tingin sya sa higaan.

I'll pat her and if it does not stops / gets too overwhleming, I will wake up to hug her and whisper at her ears, it's mama its okay. It nornally works.

I soothe and assure my baby that I’m here always . I have him recite the “Don’t be scared mommy is here” everyday when he feels scared.

Usually baby will be able to selfsoothe and continue sleeping.. but will comfort her if crying gets loud and persists

usually observe and see what best to do next. e.g. pat her back to sleep/ hug her/ call her name

Yes. Often shout when sleeping or cry out of sudden.. I take it as she's having a nightmare

I just hug him and if it keeps going for a while I carry him and he’ll stop

Occasionally wakes up screaming and inconsolable. Hug and pat and wait for it to pass.
