Rant

My boyfriend left me, after he gave me the choice of abortion. I chose to kept the baby, despite my family member’s disprovals. I mean on the surface they kept saying they don’t mind and stuff but from time to time they would say why am I so stupid to sleep with a jerk who is so irresponsible. And my family isn’t very well to do. My parents owe a shit ton of credit card bills, my dad has a mistress outside, my underage younger brother is always smoking and getting into fights. I’m currently 8 months pregnant. And it’s too late for an abortion. But I am not confident in bringing my baby into this horrible world.... to stay with my horrible family. But I know I can’t bear to give her away.

You are a brave mummy for not choosing abortion. Continue to be brave! Indeed, raising a baby is not easy. You need all the support you can have. You can try to seek help from family service centres in terms of diapers, formula etc. Even if you choose to put your baby in infant care, there will be subsidies if you are a working mother. You can’t choose your family but as long as you are determined to be a good mother, you will be able to make the right decisions for her.

Hi there. I was in the same situation as you 7 months ago. My boyf left, my parents told me to get an abortion & chased me out of the house. Worse, I lost my job 1 month ago. I was so lost. Lucky for me, my social worker helped me get back up on feet. I am a single mum due in Nov! Go seek for help if you need one. It really helps. All the best mummy! You can do it. Despite all the tough times, i've never regretted once keeping the child. 💖

Hi there , personally I think you’ve made a wise choice by keeping the baby and kudos to that as a soon to be mommy ! All those things happening around your family is just temporary . If you are from Singapore , you can contact the family service centre for help . I don’t think you’ll need to pay , they are social worker .

Yes, having a safe living environment is my top most priority. Thank you

Hi there. I was in the same situation too. The guy left. I chose to keep the baby. At 1st my family too ask to go for abortion and they didn't want to take care of it if i were to keep it. Eventually when the baby is out, my family changed and they help to take care of the baby and even love my baby. Think positive ok.

Hi, I agree with adelina.. Best to seek legal help and claim maintenance for your child. He should take responsibility for this. It will be a tough and lonely journey for you. Please try to seek help or support group. There should be single parent support group in Fb. Take care.

I really thought of legal help too. But legal fees are additional costs and I would rather use that sum of money for my unborn child. Nonetheless, appreciate your input!

It will not be easy but believe in yourself if you want to bring your baby into this world you have the responsibility to bring the baby right. Stay strong and everything will be worth it!
