Asking for a friend: She is in her 33rd week of pregnancy and wants to plan a last minute holiday. Did any of you travel during that stage of your pregnancy? What should she be thinking about?

Better not risk it especially if travelling far from city where there are no hospitals—like remote islands. Even with my kids, we dont go to places without available proper medical care. For your friend, she should consider the stress of travelling which might cause pre-term labor. She should just plan a staycation.

When I was pregnant (32nd week) with my daughter, I flew to Florida for a 2 week vacation. I felt great and didn't have any problems. Tell your friend if she is fine and feels that she can go out she should go with her feeling :)

If she plans to fly, it's best to check not only with the gynae but also the airline cos some airlines may have certain protocols on allowing preggers in the late trimester to go on the plane.

For most women, traveling during pregnancy is safe. As long as you and your fetus are healthy, you can travel safely until you are 36 weeks pregnant.

Try to check with the gynae. Might also need the gynae to write a letter stating her fitness to fly as some airlines would have concerns.

I don't recommend Travelling at the stage unless her gynae given her the green light.
