It is old wives' thought that till is good fro milk production in new mothers. It is said to increase milk production. If mother is having sesame based food, it will not affect baby in any adverse way. If mother is having these food in moderation it will be good for both of them. Majority of women here in India, eat till ke ladu after delivery to gain strength, and increase milk supply. The baby grows up completely fine and healthy. https://fabveggiemama.wordpress.com/2011/10/12/sesameseedsmoothieforbreastmilk/

Hi Navya, Sesame seeds are a good way to boost the milk supply and are also known as lactogenic food. they are high in their calcium content and are also a rich source of polyunsaturated fats, which are good fats that your baby and you will benefit from. as they are also tasty, you can add them easily to your foods, toasted or regular, and have on a regular basis.

Till, both white and black are good source of calcium and copper and are considered to be good for breastfeeding women, as it is also said they generate milk supply, though there is no substantial proof of that. They are also said to have other micro-nutrients that are beneficial of mother as well as baby.

i never heard that you should not eat sesame seeds while breastfeeding. in fact, they are a very good way to boost your breastmilk supply. make sure you have them in a crushed form. if you have them with the husk still on, you won't get as much benefit as otherwise.
