Party on a plane? Kidding. But a party filled with (paper) planes and rockets would be amazing I say. Kids always fancy cars and planes and catching them. And who knows he might just get his motivation for being a space-MAN! You can hang basic paper planes, and some balloons (asteroids), etc. Can stick some radium stars and planets on walls and ceilings, so they can glow in the dark while cutting cake. It's pretty inexpensive, and more of a DIY. Just try to use colorful papers for planes. To add, you can also try hand made space VIP invites to the attendees, like small tickets. Just make sure everything is captured, should be a memory :)

Theme parties are great if your invitation list have plenty kids. But if not much kids will be around, you can consider doing it a color theme, getting the guest to dress up according to the color theme will be fun and festive! Don't forget to include some gift bags for those kids who will be attending! https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=1st%20birthday%20party%20theme&rs=typed&0=1st%7Ctyped&1=birthday%7Ctyped&2=party%7Ctyped&3=theme%7Ctyped Have a blast planning!

They dressed their son in a star wars onesie, had gift bags and handed out red and green popsicles that resembled light sabres.

Try a Disney themed party – where all your guests (young and old) have the option to dress up as any Disney characters they'd like. You can even add cute UP balloons to your table decorations: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/435793701419421832/
