If I don't like the person, most likely may valid reason yan. So what I would do is talk to my child and be honest about him about my observations. I'll also find time to listen to what my child says and see if we can come up with an agreement or compromise on something. It's also important for me to know if my child truly loves the other person kasi dun ko na poproblemahin kung aabot na sa seryosohan talaga.
