Is it advisable to serve maple syrup for my 13mo? Like on toast or pancake? Which brand is recommended?

You can start using honey instead since LO is above 1 year old, the main concern over honey is actually because it may cause pollen allergy! If you'd like to try out honey, you can start with a type of honey called honeydew honey - it's NOT related to the fruit, but it isn't made from bees coming into contact with pollen/flowers so there's no risk of allergy :)

How about jam? If you're afraid of introducing honey when the child is too young, a little jam might be an alternative. My child is 2.. only recently we start introducing jam and pancakes.. haven't tried to intro honey yet.. anyway don't let your child be addicted to TOo sweet stuff.

I find that maple syrup has too high content of sugar. So I'll give the lesser of the two.

Honey. Pure honey is better then maple syrup. Natural.
