You can try giving zyrtec, if it's allergy it will disappear quickly after taking. Allergies are not only related to food but could also be her clothes, soap, detergent or dust etc. If zyrtec doesn't help, you can rule out allergy and maybe seek second opinion.

I think better to have the PD take a look.

Allergies to carrot is rare but anything is possible. You can try again after 2 weeks and check how her body reacts to it. Make sure the carrot is properly cooked as the allergy might be caused by pollen.
