What I learned during pregnancy, labor and postpartum

Hello mommies! Here are the things that I learned as a first time mom. Marami sa inyo alam na to but this is just what I learned along the way from Pregnancy, labor and raising a baby ( di pa mataas masyado experience ko dahil 2 months old pa si baby). PLEASE IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SHARE PUT THEM IN THE COMMENTS LETS LEARN FROM EACH OTHER MGA MIII 🥰 1. During pregnancy, pregnant women are advised to sleep on their left side to prevent na maipit ang malaking ugat sa likod that helps provide oxygen for the baby. According to my OB this is one of the leading causes of fetal death during the 3rd trimester. 2. During 37th week of pregnancy you can give birth anytime and dapat ready kana sa mga IE² na mangyayari. 3. If you're OB gave you a thumbs up na pwede kang mag normal delivery you can give birth on Lying inns pero dapat mag doctor talaga (This applies to first baby and 5th baby onwards) 4. Expect leg cramps pag dating ng 3rd trimester 5. The ideal weight for a baby to be born is between 2.1kg to 2.8kg (acc. to my OB) 6. Wag pa IE² ng pa IE please give it about 3-6 hours bago mag pa IE ulit sa midwife specially during the early stages of labor kasi it causes inflammation on your opening (according to the midwife na pinanganakan ko) Parang na bubugbog daw ang vagina mo kapag maya2 ang IE. But pwede naman every 2 hours kapag nasa active labor na (this is case to case) 7. When you are in the early stages of labor MATULOG/MAGPAHINGA KA para may lakas ka during active labor. 8. Try to make sure na maka poop ka before ka manganaka (early stages of labor) although normal lang na maka poop during labor, nakaka ubos din kasi ng lakas. 9. Prepare diaper not only menstrual diaper as in yung adult diaper kasi mas madami siyang mahohold na liquids mo. 10. This is based on Superstitious belief ha, not everyone will believe this. Pag nasanearly stages of labor ka pa lang kumuha ka ng mga unting parts ng mga bagay sa bahay nio na nahahawak hawakan nio or gamit niyo (Ex kuskus ka onti sa upuan ninyo, gupit ng onting balahibo ng pets nio, nang damit at kung ano ano pa) mag pabaga ako ng bunot ng niyog or kahit uling at sunugin nyo yun malapit sa kina uupuan ninyo parang isusuob sya. According sa mga matatanda para daw di ka madaling mabinat. And based on my experience din po ako nabinat nag laba po ako 3 days pagkatapos manganak, nNag wfh ako agad kinabukasan pagka tapos manganak, di din ako na binat sa kung ano anong kinakain ko. (please note na this is from a SUPERSTITIOUS BELIEF) 11. After manganak, ma CS man or normal delivery expected talaga na mahirap mag poop. Pagkatapos ko manganak niresetahan ako ng gamot named "Senocot" which is pina pasoften nya yung bowel mo not to the point na diarrhea na but mas madali mong ipush during your number 2. 12. This one is from SUPERSTITIOUS BELIEF TOO, para sa mga mommies na hirap na hirap mag produce ng milk. kumuha kayo nung papaya na maliliit pa talaga. Afterwards igrill mo sya to the point na medyo sunog2 na yung skin and then, I run mo sya sa breast mo taas to baba 3 times (AGAIN THIS IS JUST SUPERSTITIOUS BELIEF HAAA) 13. Paglalabas ng baby mo at naka uwi na kayo pwede mo na syang paliguan ng warm bath. 14. During feeding lalo na pag botte fed si baby you can have the baby in side lying position to reduce tbe risk na mabilaukan sya. And do not forget to burp your baby. 15. For formula fed babies. Wag ishake up and down ang bottle para walang airbubbles as it causes colic/kabag/hangin sa tiyan. Instead iipit mo sya sa dalawang palad and mix it in a rolling motion. 16. Pag may naririnig kayo na parang halak si baby, that is just milk na napunta sa lungs nya due to either overfeeding or hindi na pa burp si baby. Nawawala naman daw yan according to my pedia. 17. Pag napansin ninyo si baby na poop ng poop about 5-7 times a day at may kasaling mucos-y substance aka parang sipon pa check up na agad kasi that is a Sign for Entamoeba. 18. Use Zinc oxide Rash free for rashes (any part of the body) 19. Use Canadryl for insect bites para hindi mag iwan ng marks. 20. For formula fed babies. As much as possible, do not buy water na umaabot ng 10 liters. Yes! I know mas convenient ang large container waters but this causes parasitic problems. According to my pedia, yung malalaking containers ng water syempre mas matagal but the thing is na sa-stock sya and matagal maubos so there is a possibility ng microbial contamination sa tubig which may cause Entamoeba (I learned this the hard way) 21. For formula fed babies, Milk and water should be proportion! wag maniniwala na dapat daw malabnaw ang gatas ni baby. Unproportioned Formula and Water may cause malnutrition. Opo, yes po. Nagiging malnourished si baby kasi di angkop ang dami ng formula sa gatas. Hindi totoong nakaka cause ng pagtatae ang expresso ang timpla ng gatas. 22. 6 months dapat si baby bago maka inom ng plain water! ang urinary track po ng babies ay sobrang maselan pa. hindi nila kayang i filter ang pure water. It may cause liver and other types of infection or organ injuries. 23. Ang malalim na bunbunan ay sign ng dehydation Note: This is only based on my opinion and the advice of my OB, Midwife and Pedia.
