I want to give my baby sliced of steak. Even he has no teeth, i assume he can chew it and get the nutrition from the juice. Is it ok to give 6 month old grilled meat?

Hi Febby, I assume that baby has started on his solids. A slice might be too much for baby to handle. If you want baby to enjoy his 'steak', put it through a sieve and serve it with his staple rice or cereal. This way, baby can absorb all the nutrients from that slice of meat . Do ensure it is 'well done' for the time being.

What would you say is the most nutritious first meal for LO?

Hi Wang Fang, the first food should be an iron fortified rice, brown rice or oat cereal. After that, offer baby a variety of veggies or meat (in a texture that is suitable for baby). Every food has it's unique set of nutrients, so let baby enjoy a rainbow!

Hi Paayal, Read your baby's ques carefully. Head turns, fussing or crying may indicate that he/she had enough. Its a good habit to keep feeding time to no more than 30 minutes per meal.
